Welcome to HMS!
HMS was established in 2000 by a team of 20 scientists and engineers from Greek Universities and Industry. The main mission of HMS is the promotion and development of the science, technology and applications of metallic materials in Greece.
HMS envisages to accommodate the long tradition of Greece in metallurgy and the high quality research conducted by the Greek Universities and Research Centres. In 2010 HMS became a full member of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS).

The 9th International Conference of the Hellenic Metallurgical Society (HMS) will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from November 3rd to 4th, 2025. The event is co-organized by the Hellenic Metallurgical Society (HMS) and the Physical Metallurgy Laboratory (PML) of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
